So what do you want to do with your life?

The Roadtrip Nation (RTN) Movement was born from this question, and the idea that hitting the road to meet with inspirational leaders from all walks of life could help people discover their own paths in life. Started by a group of recent college grads whose life-changing roadtrip set this all in motion, Roadtrip Nation has evolved into a National PBS Series, student roadtrip movement on over 400 colleges, three books and a growing online network at roadtripnation.com. Whatever the medium, our goal is to help people discover their own roads in life based on individuality, passion and exploration.

Adobe and Roadtrip Nation

Adobe and Roadtrip Nation are empowering students to hit the road and share their experiences with the world. As the primary technology sponsor of Roadtrip Nation, Adobe is inspiring students across the country to take roadtrips, interview folks from all walks of life and help them discover their own paths. Along the way, roadtrippers will be educated and equipped with the latest versions of Adobe Creative Suite 3 to help power their journey.

Adobe creative tools will allow Roadtrip Nation to capture each roadtrip for print, web, interactive and mobile media, giving voice to each experience faster, more efficiently and with more freedom than ever before. Regardless of the medium, Adobe Creative Suite 3 offers students a choice: in the combination of creative tools they master, the design disciplines they explore, and the richness and scope of content they create. The skills roadtrippers master with Adobe will carry beyond their roadtrip, equipping them for future success in the digital age. With Adobe, Roadtrip Nation will inspire a generation to find its voice and express it without limitations.

The Adobe and Roadtrip Nation partnership includes outreach to students across the country. Roadtrip Nation is an officially recognized program in 100 college career centers, and is promoted on over 400 campuses nationwide via RTN student reps, RAs educators, campus associations and other networks. In addition, a range of on-campus activities, national media initiatives and outreach partnerships are employed both locally and nationally to tell the story of Roadtrip Nation and encourage students to find their own paths in life.

Educational Programs

Behind the Wheel

Behind the Wheel is Roadtrip Nation’s flagship program. Each year students apply for the chance to travel in one of the RTN Green RVs each summer. Selected students get to choose their routes and book their own interviews, with RTN film crew along for the ride to capture the experience for the annual Roadtrip Nation PBS Series.

Roadtrip Grants

Roadtrip Nation Grant Program offers funding for independent student roadtrips. Students apply online, proposing where they want to go and who they want to interview on their journey. Content and experiences from their trip are published at www.roadtripnation.com, helping create a for-students-by-students community of young people working to discover their own roads in life.

College Tours and Events

Spring Campus Recruiting Campaign

Each spring, the fleet of RTN Green RVs visit college campuses across the country and inspire students to apply for a Roadtrip Nation Grant to power their roadtrips. During each visit, the Green RV is hosted on the campus quad for an all-day interactive session with students. In the evening, the latest Roadtrip Nation footage is played in the campus theaters. Each year, the Green RVs hit 30+ campuses, while the film footage is distributed to over 400+ campuses through a network of RTN campus affiliates.

Fall College Tour & Film Series

The Fall College Tour & Film Series campaign focuses on sharing the experiences and footage from the previous summer to drive grassroots awareness of the annual PBS Series, which launches September 1st each year.

Educational Resources

Roadtrip Nation books, documentaries and online content are all distributed to educators, career counselors, RAs, student reps and others who share this content with their own networks. Roadtrip Nation is using over 400 archived interviews to develop a line of educational products, which includes integrated curriculum and lesson plans around these experiences.
