two people talking at the receptionThe focus of the Pachyderm Conference is to bring together authors, developers, and others in an ongoing conversation about how to communicate effectively with digital media. The conference will provide a forum for beginners to learn from established experts, and for those with more advanced skills to exchange ideas and gather inspiration from their peers.

The theme of the Third Annual 2008 Pachyderm Conference is the power of story. Highlights will include final details about the next release of Pachyderm, which is imminent, as well as a special showcase of presentations that demonstrate the deep connection between story and audience.

2008 NMC Summer Conference Program

The 2008 NMC Summer Conference offers attendees an extensive range of sessions and activities from which to choose, including keynote addresses from three outstanding speakers - Diana Oblinger, President, EDUCAUSE, Henry Jenkins, the Director of the MIT Comparative Media Studies Program and the Peter de Florez Professor of Humanities and Wole Soboyejo, Director of the U.S./Africa Materials Institute, and the Director of the Undergraduate Research Program at The Princeton Institute of Science and Technology Materials; the annual Center of Excellence Awards; Five Minutes of Fame; Poster Sessions judged

2008 NMC Summer Conference - Registration is Now Open!

Registration is now open for the 2008 NMC Summer Conference, hosted by Princeton University in Princeton, New Jersey!

To register online, you must have log in to the NMC web site. If you do not have an account, create one now.

When registering, each individual attendee must login with their user name and password and register themselves. The registration system is tied to the individual membership records and group registrations are not allowed. Be sure when logged in to edit your profile (via the My Account link on the left) so we have your correct mailing address, phone number, and contact information.

 

Registration and Fees

Registration includes entrance to all conference activities as well as to all receptions and meal events. Registrations received on or before Thursday, May 15 qualify for the Early Registration rate.

All attendees, including presenters, must register for the conference and pay the registration fee.

Please note that student registration rates are only available to full-time students and you will need to call the NMC office for prior approval.

Guest registration includes tickets to the Wednesday Opening Reception and Corporate Partner Showcase and the Thursday Evening at Princeton events only. If your guest would like to attend the entire conference, they will need to register as an attendee and pay the full conference registration fee.

To receive discounted registration rates, please register no later than Thursday, May 15. Payments may be made by VISA, MasterCard, check or purchase order.

Cancellations and refunds will only be accepted until May 15. After May 15, no refunds will be issued. You may send a substitution in your place for a $25 fee. Notifications must be sent to nancy@nmc.org

Hands-on Breakout Sessions

Hands-on sessions are a central focus of NMC conferences and attendees will have the opportunity to learn a wide range of new skills and software in these special sessions. Seating for hands-on sessions is limited and as in the past, admittance requires pre-registration and a ticket.

Please note, that you should register for the hands-on session tickets now! We have changed the structure of issuing tickets and the early bird gets the worm this year!
